Appointments preferred

Appointments benefit everyone!
Appointments keep wait time low and allow our staff to stay on schedule.
Surgery Appointments: Surgical appointments are scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, therefore we generally do not make routine appointments during those times.
Surgeries should be dropped off between 7:45-8:30AM and can typically be picked up between 3:00-5:30PM on the day of surgery. No food should be given after 10:00PM the night before surgery.
New Puppy Appointments: At your puppy’s first visit, we will do a fecal exam to test for internal parasites. We can collect a sample during the exam, however, we have free sample containers if you would like to drop in and get one before the appointment. That way you can bring a fresh (within 4-6 hours) sample and it will be less invasive for your puppy. Any plastic container or bag will also work fine to transport fecal samples.

"Fear Free" Policies

We adopt many “Fear Free” policies. We want pets to enjoy their doctor visits, so we make every effort to alleviate negative experiences. Some examples include soft restraint, allowing clients to collect fecal samples at home instead of being invasive if a sample cannot be collected at the appointment, pediatric needles for our little ones, etc.
Dr. Story gives LOTS of treats! If your furry companion has a fear of the doctor, stop in periodically for a treat and hopefully the positive association will help rid anxiety for future visits.

Pre-Anesthetic Bloodwork

We highly recommend pre-anesthetic bloodwork, especially for pets 7+ years of age to help recognize any underlying abnormalities your pet may have. This profile will check blood glucose, kidney/liver enzymes, and CBC. These blood tests help us to assess the health status of your pet more completely and determine if there are any additional precautions we need to take before surgery.
Annual Heartworm test

An annual heartworm test is necessary for purchase of heartworm prevention. This is for the safety of your pet. We never want to deter someone from purchasing heartworm prevention, therefore we will provide a complimentary heartworm test with the purchase of a 12 month supply of HW prevention.
